The Noah’s Ark 5 kg silver coin is issued by the Central Bank of the Republic of Armenia. Crafted from the purest silver (999/1000), this investment-grade coin is recognized as legal tender in Armenia. Like the Maple Leaf, it consistently features the same motif. The obverse of the coin displays the Armenian coat of arms along with the inscription “REPUBLIC OF ARMENIA.” Below this, the face value of 20,000 dram is indicated, as dram is the official currency of Armenia. The coin also bears the fine weight inscription “5 kg Ag 999,” with the year of issue discreetly placed beneath the face value.
The reverse of the coin showcases a detailed depiction of the iconic ark, with Mount Ararat in the background, symbolizing Armenia as the final resting place of Noah’s journey. In the foreground, a dove carrying an olive branch in its beak signifies the end of the flood, as described in the Bible. The reverse side also features the English name “Noah’s Ark” and its Armenian translation, enhancing the beauty of this impressive silver coin.
The Noah’s Ark series has been issued by the Central Bank of Armenia since 2011, with the 5 kg silver coin introduced one year later, in 2012.
Each 5 kg coin is securely packed in a capsule and delivered in a wooden box.
