The Noah’s Ark 1 kg silver coin is issued by the Central Bank of the Republic of Armenia. This investment-grade coin is made from the purest silver (999/1000) and is recognized as legal tender in Armenia. Like the Maple Leaf, it consistently features the same motif.
The obverse of the 1 kg silver coin displays the Armenian coat of arms along with the inscription “REPUBLIC OF ARMENIA.” Below this, the face value of 10,000 dram is indicated, as dram is the official currency of Armenia. The coin also bears the fine weight “1 kg Ag 999,” with the year of issue discreetly placed beneath the face value.
On the reverse side, the coin features a detailed depiction of the eponymous ark. In the background, Mount Ararat, a lasting symbol of Armenia and the final resting place of Noah’s journey, is prominently featured. In the foreground, a dove with an olive branch in its beak symbolizes the end of the flood, as described in the Bible. The reverse also includes the English name “Noah’s Ark” and its Armenian translation, adding to the coin’s aesthetic appeal.
The Noah’s Ark series has been issued by the Central Bank of Armenia since 2011, with the 1 kg silver coin introduced one year later, in 2012.
Each 1 kg coin is securely delivered in a sturdy plastic capsule. A full master box is provided when you purchase 10 pieces.
For a small additional fee, you can obtain a certificate that guarantees the authenticity and fineness of the Noah’s Ark silver coin, endorsed by the Armenian Central Bank and the owner of Geiger Edelmetalle.
