The 1 oz Noah’s Ark silver bullion coin is issued by the Central Bank of Armenia and is made of the finest silver (999/1000). It is legal tender in the Republic of Armenia. Like the Vienna Philharmonic and Maple Leaf coins, the design remains consistent every year. The obverse of the coin features the Armenian coat of arms, along with the inscription “Republic of Armenia” in both English and Armenian. Below that, you’ll find details of the coin’s weight and silver fineness, “1 Oz Ag 999”, the denomination “500 Dram”, the year of issue, and the trademark of the minting company “LEV”.
The reverse side depicts Noah’s Ark, a reference to the biblical story, with Mount Ararat in the background, symbolizing where the ark’s journey ended within the territory of Armenia. In the foreground is a dove carrying an olive branch in its beak, signifying the end of the flood, as told in the Bible. Surrounding the motif is the inscription “Noah’s Ark” in both Armenian and English.
The Noah’s Ark silver coin has been issued since 2011. Orders of 20 pieces of the 1 oz coin are delivered in a plastic tube with a protective HQC-System, developed exclusively by Geiger Edelmetalle, which provides maximum protection against tarnishing. Upon request, Geiger Edelmetalle offers an additional certificate for a modest fee, which guarantees the coin’s fineness and authenticity, signed by the company’s management and the Chairman of the Central Bank of Armenia.
