The Noah’s Ark 1/4 oz silver coin is issued by the Central Bank of the Republic of Armenia. Crafted from the purest silver (999/1000), this investment coin is recognized as legal tender in Armenia. Like the Vienna Philharmonic, it consistently features the same motif.
The obverse of the coin displays the Armenian coat of arms along with the inscription “REPUBLIC OF ARMENIA.” Below this is the face value of 100 dram, as dram is the official currency of Armenia. The fine weight “1/4 Oz Ag 999” is clearly inscribed on the coin, with the year of issue discreetly shown beneath the face value.
The reverse of the coin features a detailed depiction of the eponymous ark, with Mount Ararat in the background, a symbol of Armenia and the final resting place of Noah’s journey. In the foreground, a dove carrying an olive branch in its beak signifies the end of the flood, as described in the Bible. The reverse also includes the English name “Noah’s Ark” and its Armenian translation, adding to the coin’s beauty. The Noah’s Ark series has been in circulation since 2011.
For a small additional fee, you can obtain a certificate that guarantees the authenticity and fineness of the Noah’s Ark silver coin, endorsed by the Armenian Central Bank and the owner of Geiger Edelmetalle.
A unique feature of these coins is the HQC system, a special process that introduces a protective gas into the tubes, enveloping the coins and protecting the silver from the formation of milk stains.
