The Noah’s Ark 10 oz silver coin is issued by the Central Bank of the Republic of Armenia. This investment coin is crafted from the purest silver (999/1000) and is recognized as legal tender in Armenia. Like the American Eagle, it consistently features the same motif. The obverse of the coin displays the Armenian coat of arms along with the inscription “REPUBLIC OF ARMENIA.” Below this, the face value of 5000 dram is indicated, as dram is Armenia’s official currency. The fine weight “10 Oz Ag 999” is also inscribed on the coin, with the year of issue discreetly placed beneath the face value.
On the reverse, the coin showcases a detailed depiction of the iconic ark, with Mount Ararat in the background, symbolizing Armenia and marking the end of Noah’s journey. In the foreground, a dove carrying an olive branch in its beak represents the end of the flood, as described in the Bible. The reverse side also features the English name “Noah’s Ark” and its Armenian translation, adding to the beauty of this silver coin.
Since 2011, the Noah’s Ark series has been issued by the Central Bank of Armenia. The 10 oz silver coin was introduced one year later, in 2012.
